It reminds me of being a kid, and poring over and over the basic Action Man training manual that came with the basic figure, along with a color equipment leaflet? I used to love those line drawings. In my head, I used to tick off all the stuff I wanted to get for Xmas and birthdays. I didn't get most of it until I could afford it as an adult, but I clung onto that booklet as a kid!!!

I have always liked the way UK collectors interacted with their Action men, like the Blue Peter and Action man Story Books that always included a how to make things section in them. I think those are so cool. It escapes me what they were called, I used to know, but here's a couple of pages out of one of them, so the others can see what I am talking about. This stuff is so cool, when I look at this stuff, I can just feel the excitement of a kid making this stuff back then. I don't think the concept of making things to go along with the Action man products kids bought was ever exploited much over here with GIJoe. I know alot of American kids did it anyway, but it was never recognized as a cool part of the hobby over here by Hasbro. I guess they wanted the US kids to buy, not make .
