Looks like you salvaged the suit, but keep in mind that most of the vintage clothes will fade and possibly shrink when washing. I like to use some scotch tape to pull dirt off the uniforms if possible, but this can make the fabric fuzzy. Yes, the iron can damage the uniform too if not careful. Personally I like Joe clothes that are perfectly wrinkled in that the wrinkles got there while being worn. I know some collectors weather clothes to make it look worn (usually for modern stuff) but I like the look of 30-year old wrinkles at the anatomical joints. minty crisp stuff, I'll leave crisp. Another alternative to ironing is to wet the clothes and then let them dry on a Joe (I use a repro Joe as to avoid rusty rivits)
