That line about the tea was funny, but this reminded me of something else. When my brother and I played with Joes in the backyard "swamp and jungle," sometimes we would make a "camp' for ourselves. I had an old Sears wall tent set up like our "command post" and we, of course, had our sleeping bags. We would load up our war surplus gear, like the canteens, with Kool-Aid, and maybe some food from Mom's kitchen and stay outside all day and maybe at night, too! We'd play Joes as if we were 1/6th, or we imagined we were the commanders and sent Joe on a mission. We'd have drink and food in the tent while Joe traveled the war-torn backyard!

Gawd! Those were the days! I suppose I could set up my tent nowadays, but it wouldn't be the same--my back is such a mess, I couldn't sleep in a sleeping bag, or on the ground with or without a mattress! I could take some food outside, but my imagination is "all growed up" now, and I haven't seen my brother 1991, the bum!

For a time, when we had The Michigan MADmen 1/6th club, those guys would get together around Labor Day week-end, I think it was, and have a big week-end 1/6th photo-shoot at Einer Thorland's house and property out in the country near Grand Rapids, MI. Those guys sure had fun of the 1/6th and 1:1 variety!

Some of you older guys may remember the Michigan MADmen club--they had a website and folks like Einer, James Von Spronson, and Sixty Driver, were in it. I was, too, for a few months, but the club was more 1/6th Dragon figures and I preferred the Joes over Dragon, so I dropped out. I think many of the guys are out of it, but I think maybe Sixty Driver is still on the boards at the Sixth Division website(?) I haven't been there for many years now and I don't know fersure.

Funny how Joes can bring back memories and events! The Adventure Team is ALWAYS needed somewhere!
