Although, I must say, I probably wouldn't have thought of going to this extent with the details if it wasn't for the inspiration I get from the work of the other guys on this board.
ET - Cool exhaust effect.
Which filter did you use?
What I usually do for exhaust or smoke is to start with a new layer and then I use the lasso tool to select the area I want. I use the Alien Skin filters for smoke and fire.
Then, I go into layer style and adjust the opacity under blending options to make the effect a bit more subtle.
By the way Jim, love the laser and lightning effect.
